Our Mascot

El Jefe has character and attitude. Named nearly four years ago in a national contest, El Jefe is pronounced "el hefe." Spanish in origin, the name means The Chief. Hail to The Chief!

Clyde & Jean Hartsell

As an executive for McDonalds, operating nine stores, Clyde Hartsell decided to do what he and Jean enjoyed, archery. The final 8 years of his fast food tenure, he ran an Archery Pro Shop and owned a dry cleaners. This photo of Clyde and Jean was taken in the Bull's Eye traveling trailer, at a shoot in Alabama, March, 1998. Going for the gold!

Stephanie Rosenthal-Gill and Boo

That's Boo with the leash. You can meet him at the Bull's Eye trailer during national 3-D shoots. Of course, he's a grown up dog with impeccable manners now.

With Boo is Stephanie (Hartsell) Rosenthal-Gill. Clyde and Jean's daughter married last year, but stayed on at Bull's Eye as Operations Manager. Coached by her dad and mom, Stephanie is an NFAA competitor with 4 National Championships!

A Hunt with Papa Bear

Clyde left the fast food business in '86, but not before he participated in a classic Grouse Haven, Michigan hunt with Fred Bear. After that, he moved to New Mexico, where Jean has relatives and herself held several state archery records. Two years later, Clyde and Jean began their own business, producing McKenzie 3-D shooting cards. They were immediately successful. Bull's Eye has grown steadily ever since!

Clyde - Then

Shooting a Bear Tamerlane in a 1977 NFAA tournament in Clemson, South Carolina, Clyde demonstrates excellent shooting form. He was a member in good standing then of the Tomo-Chi-Chi archery club in Atlanta.

Clyde - Now

Clyde began hunting in 1970. 16 hunting seasons and hundreds of tournaments later, his unhappiness with the sights and scopes available for hunting and competition would lead him to begin his own business. Now, after 30 years in archery, he is able to shoot a superior quality Bull's Eye sights or scopes on any archery venue in bowhunting or 3-D competition. A deeply religious man with thousands of friends in the world family of archery, Clyde invites everyone to come by the traveling trailer to get acquainted and to study the high quality benefits of Bull's Eye sights.
